This notice names a product; your particular item is not yet verified. Compare every applicable model, serial, lot, production-date or model-year boundary below.

Company / brand
SUNS International
Agency product description and boundaries

This recall involves all SUNS International SS6291 Solenoid Interlock switches used in residential elevators produced from August 20, 2024, through November 6, 2025, with date codes 2431 through 2543. The SUNS SS6291 interlock switch measures approximately 10 inches by 2 inches and weighs about 2-pounds. "SUNS", the model number and date code are printed on a label on the side of the product.

Still to verify: match the label on your item with the full official notice, including any exclusions, tables and photos. Some identifiers appear only on the agency website and are absent from this data feed. A missing field does not mean all versions are affected.

If your lot or date falls outside a stated range, this notice has not established that your item is affected. This is not a finding about other recalls or product safety.

2. Agency hazard and consumer action

CPSC reports: The affected interlock switches can become stuck in a retracted position, allowing the exterior door to remain unlocked, posing a risk of death or serious injury if the elevator is called to another floor.

CPSC consumer action: Consumers should stop using their residential elevator containing the SUNS interlock switch immediately and contact SUNS or their elevator installer listed below for free professional installation of a replacement interlock switch.
