CPSC reports: The control board inside the motor of the recalled air conditioners can fail, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire and burn hazards.

CPSC consumer action: Consumers should stop using the recalled air conditioners immediately and visit www.friedrich.com/product-recall to receive information on how to determine if their unit is covered by the recall. Consumers should have the air conditioner’s serial number, which can be found on the inside of the unit, when they visit the recall web page or call Friedrich about the recall.
