Agency product description and boundaries
Cummins, Inc. (Cummins) is recalling certain L9 diesel engines, part number D563027BX03. The remote fuel filter hoses may separate from the fitting, causing a fuel leak and an engine stall.
Still to verify: match the label on your item with the full official notice, including any exclusions, tables and photos. Some identifiers appear only on the agency website and are absent from this data feed. A missing field does not mean all versions are affected.
If your lot or date falls outside a stated range, this notice has not established that your item is affected. This is not a finding about other recalls or product safety.
2. Agency hazard and consumer action
NHTSA reports: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. An engine stall increases the risk of a crash.
NHTSA consumer action: Dealers will replace the fuel hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 20, 2026. Owners may contact Cummins customer service at 1-800-286-6467. Cummins number for this recall is C7311.
