Agency product description and boundaries
Newmar Corporation (Newmar) is recalling certain 2026 Freedom Aire motorhomes. The Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) label may state an incorrect weight value. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 120, “Wheels and Rims - Other Than Passenger Cars.”
Still to verify: match the label on your item with the full official notice, including any exclusions, tables and photos. Some identifiers appear only on the agency website and are absent from this data feed. A missing field does not mean all versions are affected.
If your lot or date falls outside a stated range, this notice has not established that your item is affected. This is not a finding about other recalls or product safety.
Vehicle-specific check required: use NHTSA’s official VIN lookup. Fresh Recalls has not checked a VIN or repair status and does not ask you to submit a VIN.
2. Agency hazard and consumer action
NHTSA reports: Incorrect weight information can allow the vehicle to be overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash.
NHTSA consumer action: Dealers will replace the labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 20, 2026. Owners may contact Newmar customer service at 1-800-731-8300. Newmar's number for this recall is 631 RSB.
Affected product: Newmar Freedom Aire recall status
