Agency product description and boundaries
Fontaine Trailer Company (Fontaine Trailer) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Fusion flatbed trailers. The main beams may have been contaminated with hydrogen during the galvanization process, causing the beams to crack.
Still to verify: match the label on your item with the full official notice, including any exclusions, tables and photos. Some identifiers appear only on the agency website and are absent from this data feed. A missing field does not mean all versions are affected.
If your lot or date falls outside a stated range, this notice has not established that your item is affected. This is not a finding about other recalls or product safety.
Vehicle-specific check required: use NHTSA’s official VIN lookup. Fresh Recalls has not checked a VIN or repair status and does not ask you to submit a VIN.
2. Agency hazard and consumer action
NHTSA flags this campaign “Do not drive.”
NHTSA reports: A cracked beam may break, resulting in a loss of load support and increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
NHTSA consumer action: Owners are advised not to use their trailer until the remedy is completed. Fontaine Trailer will inspect and replace the trailers as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 11, 2026. Owners may contact Fontaine Trailer customer service at 1-800-821-6535, option 5.
