Agency product description and boundaries

Rivian Automotive, LLC (Rivian) is recalling certain 2027 R2 vehicles. A high voltage battery fastener may have been improperly tightened, causing a loss of drive power.

Still to verify: match the label on your item with the full official notice, including any exclusions, tables and photos. Some identifiers appear only on the agency website and are absent from this data feed. A missing field does not mean all versions are affected.

If your lot or date falls outside a stated range, this notice has not established that your item is affected. This is not a finding about other recalls or product safety.

Vehicle-specific check required: use NHTSA’s official VIN lookup. Fresh Recalls has not checked a VIN or repair status and does not ask you to submit a VIN.

2. Agency hazard and consumer action

NHTSA reports: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

NHTSA consumer action: Rivian will inspect and repair the connection or replace damaged components as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 28, 2026. Owners may contact Rivian customer service at 1-888-748-4261. Rivian's number for this recall is FSAM-1888.
