Agency product description and boundaries
Spartan Fire, LLC (Spartan) is recalling one 2024 Metrostar emergency vehicle. A node may become unresponsive and cause a loss of functionality of connected components, such as exterior lighting and pump-mode.
Still to verify: match the label on your item with the full official notice, including any exclusions, tables and photos. Some identifiers appear only on the agency website and are absent from this data feed. A missing field does not mean all versions are affected.
If your lot or date falls outside a stated range, this notice has not established that your item is affected. This is not a finding about other recalls or product safety.
Vehicle-specific check required: use NHTSA’s official VIN lookup. Fresh Recalls has not checked a VIN or repair status and does not ask you to submit a VIN.
2. Agency hazard and consumer action
NHTSA reports: A loss of exterior lights can reduce the visibility of the vehicle to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. A loss of pump-mode function may prevent or delay the use of emergency equipment, increasing the risk of injury.
NHTSA consumer action: Spartan Fire will work with Fire Research Corporation to replace the I/O Nodes, free of charge. The owner notification letter is expected to be mailed November 1, 2026. Owners may contact Spartan customer service at 1-517-543-6400. Spartan's number for this recall is 26017.
