Agency product description and boundaries
The Heil Co. (Heil) is recalling certain CNG tailgate ladder kits sold as replacement parts, installed on Heil CNG front loader vehicles only. An incorrect bolt may have been installed in one of the ladder legs, allowing it to contact and damage the CNG cylinders.

2. Agency hazard and consumer action
NHTSA reports: A damaged CNG tank can leak fuel, increasing the risk of a fire.
NHTSA consumer action: Heil will replace the ladder bracket, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 25, 2026. Owners may contact Heil's customer service at 1-866-275-4345. Heil's number for this recall is SN-26-001.
