⚠ Recall found. Yes. Altec’s Altec AP Series is covered by NHTSA recall 26V457000. Hazard: An overheated wire can ignite flammable material in the cargo area, increasing the risk of fire. Units affected: 884. What to do: Altec will instruct owners to inspect their vehicle and if the wire is not protected, order a kit that includes a bolt on guard to protect the wires, free of charge. Letters informing owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed September 11, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3349.
